SAM NIXON

TV & Radio Presenter and Food Influencer

TV and radio presenter, and one half of the hugely popular BAFTA award winning duo Sam and Mark, Sam has built an impressive onscreen career. Having trained as a chef prior to finding fame, his love of cookery was reignited whilst reaching the final of Celebrity MasterChef. With a passion for hearty food and the great outdoors, Sam’s established a loyal following of foodies, collaborated with a number of consumer brands and is writing his own cookery book.

Sam Nixon is a double BAFTA award winning TV presenter, probably best known as one half of the hugely popular TV duo Sam and Mark. With a career that spans over 20 years in entertainment, Sam has hundreds of hours of live TV under his belt with credits that include Sam & Mark’s Big Friday Wind Up, Crackerjack!, Junior Bake Off, Copycats, Top of the Pops Saturday and TMi to name but a few. Sam has also presented films for the BBC’s The One Show, ITV’s This Morning and has appeared on Sunday Brunch, The Xtra Factor, Pointless Celebrities, The Chase and Dancing on Ice and as a finalist on the BBC’s Celebrity MasterChef. Sam is also the host of The Masked Singer Live at Butlin's Skegness resort, and as an experienced Radio presenter regularly presents on BBC Radio Leeds and Sheffield.

A firm family favourite, Sam is currently starring as Buttons in Theatre Royal Wakefield's 2024 pantomime, Cinderella , having performed as ‘Jack’ in his first ever pantomime production in 2019.

Whilst he’s built an impressive career as a TV and Radio presenter, Sam has always had a love of food and cookery; a passion he developed from a young age. Like many teenagers Sam wasn’t sure what he wanted to do after he left school and it was whilst watching a young Jamie Oliver on ‘The Naked Chef’ that Sam realised he wanted to be a chef. Prior to his break into TV, Sam was training to be a chef on a catering and hospitality course in his home town of Barnsley.

When fame beckoned following his success on Pop Idol, his passion for cookery never left him, so much so that in later years he jumped at the chance to participate in the BBC’s Celebrity MasterChef in 2015, an experience that he’ll never forget, which saw him get all the way to the much-anticipated final.

Since appearing on the show, Sam has grown his ‘foodie’ following on social media and spends much of his time growing his own fruit and vegetables on his allotment, creating and road testing his own recipes much to the delight of his followers (his Christmas dinner prep is legendary!) and cooking for his family al fresco using his outdoor wood oven. Sam’s style of cookery celebrates wholesome family meals, cooked from the heart and his culinary heroes include Jamie Oliver and Nigel Slater.

Popular with brands in the consumer and food space, Sam has collaborated with amongst others Tefal, Smeg, Flora, Orchard Pig and Asda and was previously an ambassador for Jacksons of Yorkshire. Sam is currently writing his own recipe book featuring his favourite seasonal recipes.

MEDIA & TESTIMONIALS

Thanks for your help in getting Sam to host our Young Champions awards. All I can really say is that he did an absolutely wonderful job.

He made time to speak to people in the crowd and went on to host the show itself with real professionalism - and a good dose of humour - which really endeared him to the crowd of almost 500 people.
