LOUISE GOOKEY

Louise Gookey is a TV presenter and journalist, with a specialism in sustainability and green living. An eco-warrior at heart, sustainable living became a passion for Louise following a documentary she watched on the impact of fast fashion on the environment. This inspired an ever-growing curiosity which has seen Louise focus her career primarily within consumerism, exploring the ways we can all try to shop better, whilst living more sustainably and without damaging the environment and destroying the planet. In recent years, Louise has focused on exploring the simple yet effective ways we can all change our habits to benefit both our day to day lives and the environment around us, and is on a mission to work closely with brands that have sustainability at their core, whilst also working to expose greenwashing in unregulated markets.

 

As an emerging and fresh voice in this space, Louise has made it her goal to raise awareness of over- consumption and the importance of questioning where products and consumables come from, and what happens once we’ve finished with them. As a part of this, Louise has developed a specialism in sustainable fashion and regularly presents at the iconic Ideal Home Show, delivering talks on sustainability in fashion and eco-cleaning. She has also worked with Sustainable Fashion Week, and is collaborating with them behind the scenes to create and develop a new podcast focused on the extensive and global impact of fast fashion.

A multi-faceted and experienced host, Louise has previously presented for BBC Good Food, Spotlight TV and Showcase TV, and has hosted the prestigious National Film Awards, World Fashion Awards, Digital Education Awards and National Reality TV Awards, and recently hosted Tamarindo's 2024 Wind Investment Awards and the European Natural Beauty Awards. A warm and popular choice, Louise’s wealth of experience as a presenter has seen her work across all areas of the media, including a number of large scale live events. She has hosted for the National Pet Show and Event TV delivering content for some of the largest consumer events in the UK, including the Business Travel Show and Brand Licensing Europe. Louise has also presented corporate videos and live events working for an array of brands, including Google, BT, Boots, Argos, Skinny Tan, Hoover, Canon, Just Eat and Move IQ to name a few.

An accomplished radio presenter, Louise has also hosted shows on Soulbreeze Radio, Juice FM, Radio Jackie and Vibe FM, and has previously appeared across national and regional stations and networks including BBC London, Talk Radio and Love Sport Radio. She can currently be heard presenting the travel news and bulletins across LBC, Smooth and Gold Radio and is an experienced voice over artist.

As an active sustainability advocate, Louise supports the Soil Association and was delighted to recently host their Organic Beauty & Wellbeing conference, which explored the UK-certified organic beauty market in depth. She works frequently abroad and with international clients and most recently hosted the Earth Stage at 4 Years From Now, exploring how start-ups can help power environmental change.

When not in front of the camera or behind a mic, Louise authors features and reports for a number of national publications, and regularly shares helpful and easy to follow tips on green living and sustainability via her social media accounts.
